![]() ![]() Schedule around what I tell you my availability is, not when you think I should be available to work.ĭo you think as an employer I’m going to pay you to work whenever you want, and have to do extra work and set aside extra resources to always try to figure out what’s going on with you? Your piss poor planning doesn't make any difference to me. It doesn't fucking matter if Jane calls in sick, if I say I'm not available to work, I'm not available. I do know we're talking about part time jobs and that's all the more reason to MYOFB and stick to scheduling people when they say they're available and not try to run their life playing manager/mommy to your employees. Knowing peoples schedules is the mark of a good manager. Sorry Like my attitude, but do you think as an employer I’m going to pay you to work whenever you want, and have to do extra work and set aside extra resources to always try to figure out what’s going on with you? Fuck no man, you’re fired! All this person is doing is getting a realistic picture of what they can ask in the case of an emergency, because when Jane calls in sick they don’t have time to call every single employee because they don’t know what’s going on in their life. I mean we haven’t even spoken about shifts day or night there is only a set number of potential hours in a shift. That leave 57 hours of flux time a week if you’re sleeping a healthy eight hours a night. They literally could not schedule you any time you’re not in class. You realize we’re talking about part time work here right? Less than thirty hours a week by definition, and the maximum number of credit hours most colleges allow, being 15, averages 25 hours of in class time. This sub is basically entirely filled with unhireable and ridiculously irresponsible people who are never going to get a job or hold one down unless they stop listening to the people on this sub. Anyone whose been in management of any team of part time workers has had to deal with this because scheduling is a nightmare. Something tells me maybe you’re lying, but who knows maybe you aren’t and you were just #blessed or #badatit. Like if you used basic reasoning maybe you’d see “oh there’s basically never a time when someone asks me something for no reason, let me use the most the most absolute rudimentary sleuthing to try to find that reason.” Oh wow it’s because that manager is having issues filling a role, isn’t authorized to hire or can’t hire because of the pandemic and has to try to fill hours. Job Vent - a place to vent about your grievances at workĪnd what if everyone isn’t available on Tuesday? Do they just fire you? Or do they ask everyone their actual commitments to in order to delegate sometimes forcibly as a manager has to, beceause they are managers and their job is to manage. ![]() Regional job subreddits, via /r/forhire.We will be lenient, as long as the post is somewhat related to /r/jobs ( The core mission of /r/jobs is for "How to get a Job" or "How to quit a job" ), we will allow it as long as it follows all other rules.
